Our story and proud Annapolis traditions
AAYC began at the turn of the millennium when a close-knit group of recreational boaters sought to celebrate the unique beauty of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Over two decades later, we honor our founding Legacy Members while continuing our focus on seamanship, navigation, fleet cruises, and classic Chesapeake raft-ups. We take immense pride in fostering an unpretentious maritime culture anchored right here in Annapolis.
A club defined by connection, not a clubhouse
What sets AAYC apart is our refreshing approach to yacht club life. We intentionally operate without an expensive brick-and-mortar facility or mandatory dining minimums, keeping membership affordable and focused purely on boating. Boat ownership is never a requirement—our fleet connects seasoned skippers with eager newcomers looking to learn. Plus, our active membership in the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Clubs Association (CBYCA) provides reciprocity privileges across regional partner clubs.
